Catholic Identity and Mission
Habemus Papam
Introducing Pope Leo XIV - Last month, the world saw a significant moment in the Catholic Church with the election of Pope Leo XIV, born Robert Francis Prevost. He’s the first American-born pope, and is also the first from the Order of Saint Augustine. He is a Pope who leads through connection with all.
Pope Leo XIV is known for his down-to-earth nature, dedication to social justice, and focus on inclusivity. He will continue the legacy of Pope Francis, promoting unity and compassion within the global Church. He has pledged that his papcy will be about empathy and community highlighting the importance of connection and relationships. His choice of the name "Leo" is a tribute to earlier popes who stood up for workers' rights and social issues.
