Active participation in life requires individuals to develop knowledge, skills and understanding of English language and literacy.

Our curriculum involves listening and speaking, reading, written expression, spelling and grammar and formalities.

Through English teaching, we want our students to develop:

  • The ability to speak, listen, read and write with purpose, imagination, confidence and enjoyment for a range of purposes, audiences and contexts.
  • A knowledge of the text structures and language features in different texts, and the capacity to apply this knowledge.
  • A knowledge of diverse varieties of English and the capacity to critically analyse and apply this knowledge.
  • A broad knowledge of a range of texts and the capacity to critically analyse these.
  • A knowledge of the ways in which visual and written texts can be critically interpreted.

We offer English support progams such as WASP and LAP
