Welcome to Our Lady of the River Catholic Family and thank you for contemplating entrusting your child and their learning to the care of our School Family.

Your decision regarding your child’s education is one of the most important decisions you will make for their lives. The quality of a child’s primary education is critical in providing the foundations for life long learning, in helping them to develop respectful relationships, forge enriching friendships and in shaping their value system.

Our Lady of the River School strives to reinforce and nurture our core value of respect in all its dimensions – respect for God, respect for self, respect for others, respect for property and respect for the environment.

This is an exciting and blessed time to be considering enrolling your child at Our Lady of the River School. Our School owes its existence to our nation’s first saint – Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop. Together with Fr. Julian Tennison Woods, Sr. Mary pioneered a radical new way of providing the young, especially the poor and those residing in remote and isolated places with the opportunity of both a spiritual and academic education. The Sisters of St. Joseph of the Sacred Heart began their long association with our community with the establishment of Our Lady of the River School in 1936.

Whilst many schools provide quality education for their students, Our Lady of the River School has a unique and irreplaceable role in situating the total educational experience of its students within the context of the life, death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Our Lady of the River School exists to complement, support and nurture the vocation of its parents and caregivers as the first educators of the young in the faith.

I trust you find a friendly welcome at our School and I am confident that our dedicated and caring staff will provide your child with an exciting, fulfilling and enriching learning experience.
